Power Outage Interrupts Flight Operations at Providenciales Airport

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos Islands, Sunday, March 15th, 2015 – A power outage by FORTIS TCI to rectify an urgent situation on Saturday has resulted in moderate flight delays at Providenciales International Airport. The outage occurred at 10.40 a.m. and lasted just under two hours on the busiest day for flight operations. Providenciales International Airport (PLS) officially opened the doors to its expanded terminal building on Monday 29th December, 2014. The gateway to the Turks & Caicos Islands which sees an ever growing number of passengers from all corners of the globe, began the terminal redevelopment project in March of 2013. Premier, Hon.
